We invite you to participate in a zoom discussion on Thursday, January 28th 4:30 – 6:00 PM: Educators Reimagining School Safety Beyond Police.
This event is being coordinated by the Chicago Teachers Union, Alternatives, and Northeastern Illinois University (MACTL Program).
This webinar centers Chicago educators from the Chicago Public School system who are working to build safer and stronger classrooms and communities without policing. Participants will offer concrete examples from their practices and campaigns about how they are building safety in classrooms and schools without policing.
The panel will involve approximately 1 hour of facilitated dialogue and 30 minutes of engaging questions surfaced from attendees.
Our goal for this discussion is to invite other Chicago educators to grow their practices and to connect the defund policing movement to their classrooms and schools.
